Technological development is changing rapidly, and progress must move in lockstep with safety to be truly effective. On August 20, Sanctity, a leading brand in explosion-proof equipment, joined forces with industrial automation giant Rockwell Automation and The Joy Factory—the manufacturer of the world's first explosion-proof iPad platform—to host a seminar titled "iPad Platforms Leading the Digital Mobile Revolution in the Petrochemical Industry." This cross-industry integration served as a brilliant masterclass in combining intelligence with safety.

During the event, Po-Yi Li, Sales Manager at Sanctity, delivered a logically structured presentation on the evolution of explosion-proof history. His talk covered the first recorded dust explosion in history, the birth of the world's first explosion-proof standard, and the evolution of such standards and regulations in Taiwan. Li emphasized that both knowledge and equipment require systematic evaluation to achieve true safety. Sanctity also showcased the principles behind the first explosion-proof lamp and conducted experiments based on the "Explosion Triangle" theory. By demonstrating different combustion results under varying conditions—where some resulted only in flames while others were powerful enough to trigger an explosion—the presentation was both impactful and highly educational.
Li stated that this laboratory data reflects real-world scenarios where slight negligence in explosion-proof design, material selection, or control mechanisms could lead to catastrophe. Attendees were deeply impressed by the experimental results, which allowed them to effortlessly grasp complex technical concepts through vivid demonstration rather than abstract theory. Furthermore, Sanctity detailed current regulatory inspection priorities and the latest application trends, including hazardous area inspections via explosion-proof tablets, Augmented Reality (AR) guided troubleshooting, AI-driven industrial safety models, and integrated platform connectivity.
Rockwell Automation, a pioneer in industrial automation, information control solutions, and digital transformation, showcased its iOS-based intelligent mobile monitoring solution for explosion-proof environments. The solution provides a complete system framework from OT (Operational Technology) to IT. Through the design and planning of Rockwell’s consultancy team, the company helps enterprises bridge the traditionally difficult gap between OT and IT environments.
The Joy Factory introduced its explosion-proof tablets, which have obtained IECEx and TS (Taiwan Safety) certifications. By leveraging the iPad’s "out-of-the-box" deployment capability and the Zero Trust security advantages of iPadOS, the platform significantly lowers the entry cost for mobile devices in industrial applications. This solution effectively addresses the three most difficult challenges of industrial digital transformation in one go.
